Calculate leasing rate for bicycle: What's behind it?

WHow did you get result of the bicycle-Leasing-Rechners agreement? The result of our leasing bike calculator is an individual calculationbased on three key factors:

  • The purchase price of the bicycle: This is the biggest lever. A higher price leads to a higher leasing rate, but also to a greater tax advantage in absolute terms. You can also include leaseable accessories such as a lock or helmet in your calculation.
  • Your monthly gross salary: Your salary determines your tax rate. As a general rule, the higher your salary, the higher your tax burden and the greater the impact of tax-reducing salary conversion for you.
  • Your tax bracket and other information: Factors such as your tax bracket, your state, or the number of child allowances affect your personal tax rate and thus the amount of your savings. The insurance you choose also affects your leasing rate.

This is how your leasing rate becomes your savings

The decisive advantage of bicycle leasing through your employer lies in the type of payment and the legal subsidies available.

  • Salary conversion instead of private purchase: Normally, you buy things with your net salary—i.e., the money that remains after all taxes and social security contributions have been deducted. With company bike leasing, it works differently and much more cleverly: the monthly leasing rate is deducted directly from your gross salary. This has a decisive effect: your taxable income decreases. As a result, you automatically pay less income tax and less social security contributions.
  • The favorable 0.25 percent rule: Since you are also allowed to use your new company bike for private purposes without restriction, you receive a benefit that is taxable as a so-called "monetary benefit." This is precisely where the legislator has created the decisive incentive: this benefit is only taxed at 0.25% of the original list price (RRP) of the bicycle. By comparison, this rate is 1% for a company car.

Calculation example: Costs of e-bike leasing

Let's get specific: How much does it cost to lease an e-bike? To Calculation the lease payment , let's take an e-bike with a purchase price of €3,000 . This results in a monthly gross leasing rate of approximately $100.

  • Thanks to salary conversion , these €88 are deducted directly from your gross salary. This reduces your tax burden and, depending on your salary and tax bracket, you save around approx. €35.
  • At the same time, the monetary benefit is subject to the 0.25 percent rule . This will only cost you a few euros net, in our example approx. €4.

The final calculation, which the e-bike company leasing calculator performs for you looks like this: €88 gross rate minus €35 tax savings plus €4 tax equals: €57 actual net charge. Although the leasing rate is €88, the bike only costs you €57 at the end of the month. Our calculator shows you exactly this final amount.
